Since the amount is small, maybe get a second job and work really hard for the money and then pay cash. I know saving is hard but if it really worth it you can save that money really fast (especially if you plan on paying it off within one year.

Try your local credit union, they tend to offer more to a person in your situation. I would first try to apply for only a 5K loan pay it off then go back for a bigger loan if you still need to.
