Question About Payday loans.....PLEASE help.................?

recently got a payday loan for 250.00. The problem is i now owe 295 with interest and i have lost my job and have NO way of paying it back....i was told they will take me to court and attach my wages when i find another job......they will not work with me and i am scared of being sued when i don't have enough money to get by as it is.........anyone else have experience with these places??????

First of all, don't panic. You can only do your best. Focus on getting another job. Anything will do.

Fortunately, the loan is *relatively* small, so you should be able to pay it off in not too much time. You might have to change your living situation for a while (back with your parents, with a friend, out of your car...) You might have to eat mainly beans and water. I did it before, it won't kill you.

I don't think the loan company will act too swiftly - that is, you have a few weeks to earn the money. But don't let this loan get away from you - it probably has a phenomenal interest rate, and will soon grow to be unmanageable if you neglect it. Whatever you earn, make a partial payment on the loan, and get a receipt for it. That will help, it will reduce the principal on which they're charging you the interest.

This is an iffy opinion: Seek the answer within yourself, from your own resources. If a friend or family member bails you out, that may be too easy, and you may not learn good money management.

If you can't pay them back, you're SOL -- you signed on the dotted line and agreed to pay them back with interest. Not only can they sue you for the $295, you'll also owe interest AND attorneys' fees AND court costs. If you're not working, they can't garnish your wages, but they CAN put a judgment against you.

PayDay loans are one of the worst places to get loans. The interests rates are ridiculous.

There is a possibility of them suing, but I doubt it. At least not right away. They are saying that to get you scared. Until they get a judgment they can't do anything.

However, the interest on the account WILL continue to rise. You need to do anything you can to get them some money. I would recommend selling something or asking for some money from a family member to get them paid. However, make sure you take care of your essentials first (food, housing, utilities) before they get anything.

Beg and borrow whatever you can from anyone you can - pool it all together and pay what you can ASAP - and find a new job ASAP, no matter how little it pays, you NEED to get this monkey off you back TODAY.

Unless you have a LONG history with a payday loan place, they are NEVER forgiving and always go straight for the throat. You dont want to ignore it, and you dont want to let it go more than another week or two at the MOST. When the lawyers are turned onto you, you had better be prepared for PRISON TIME if you miss ANY court date - and they will do all sorts of things so that you %26quot;miss%26quot; getting court documents and they get a defaulted judgement against you.

These places are like PARASITES.

I remember when I owned them about 179.00 and I did not have it in my account, all they did was deposit the check I wrote for it and on top of that I had to pay 35 for an overdraft fee for my bank and that is about it but I did not get sued.
